Alex Carey confident of Australia's comeback in Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey reckons he is part of a strong team that is certain to bounce back in the four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy despite losing the series opener in Nagpur. Australia are 0-1 down in the four-match series after losing the first Test in Nagpur by an innings and 132 runs in three days.

"We're a strong Test team. We've got all the bases covered. Unfortunately it didn't go to plan for this first Test, but we're reinforcing the message we've got going into the tour," Carey said. reporters after Australia had a training session at the same venue.

Carey urged his team's batsmen to strike a balance between being proactive and patient against the Indian spinners. On a pitch that kept the ball low and spun unpredictably, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel claimed 16 of Australia's 20 wickets.
